Four foundations. One workspace.
Connected blocks, a queryable database, and an extensible workspace for the tools and agents you choose.
Give your ideas a little structure. Write in blocks, build hierarchies, fold the details, and rearrange your thoughts as they develop.
Your blocks live in SQLite, with their own identity, properties, and relationships. Use visual queries or SQL to bring the right notes and tasks into view.
Extend your workspace with plugins, custom views, commands, and themes. Use the SDK to build tools around the way you think and work.
Connect through the CLI, MCP server, or HTTP API. Let your agents find context and work with individual blocks in the same knowledge base you use.
Your knowledge. A shared language.
Give your tools real context, down to a single block. Ouraline’s CLI, MCP server, and HTTP API let agents work with the same structured knowledge you do.
Find the right idea. Add a useful connection. Update one task without rewriting the whole page. You stay in the flow, and in control.

A foundation you can build on
Your desktop knowledge base is a local SQLite database. A file you can back up. A foundation you can understand.
Add a custom view, register a command, or change your theme. The plugin SDK gives you ways to shape the workspace around your workflow.
A few things to know
Ouraline is a local-first workspace for structured knowledge, built on SQLite. It brings connected blocks, database queries, custom extensions, and agent access together in one knowledge base. Every block has a stable identity, so the same idea can appear in different views without being duplicated.
Each desktop Base is a local SQLite knowledge base. The web app uses SQLite in your browser, with persistent storage where supported. Cloud publishing is a separate, explicit action. Keep independent backups of important work, especially while Ouraline is in active development.
Yes. Ouraline supports importing Markdown, Logseq graphs, and Obsidian vaults into structured blocks. Import support does not mean every third-party plugin or formatting convention transfers unchanged.
Yes. The plugin SDK supports custom commands, views, themes, and other workspace extensions. The CLI and HTTP API also let you connect scripts and external tools to your knowledge base. Plugin interfaces are evolving while Ouraline is in active development.
The headless CLI, MCP server, and versioned HTTP API let tools search, read, and change individual blocks through Ouraline’s semantic commands. You choose and configure the tools you connect; AI access is not required to write or organize your notes.
Ouraline is in active development. This first site introduces the product while the experience continues to take shape. Features and data migrations may change. There is no public download or hosted workspace available on this page yet.
